Hide and Seek

You're here; we smile, knowing

I look away and back
You're gone.
I look around; and you've
Disappeared.

I smile; 'cuz I know
And I look away-and back
You're here.
You grin, I laugh.

"Hide and seek?", I say
The glint-in your eyes, is
Back.

"I hide, you seek", you say
Roll my eyes; fine, I say
Close, you order; I do
I look away-and back
You're gone.

Behind the tree, between the leaves
Think I; look around, but you've
Disappeared.

Behind the rock, hidden, laughing
I look around, but you've
Disappeared.

Scratch my head, frown
Wondering; where possibly could
You have gone?

And then, see I, a shadow
Laughing-to myself; I walk
Stealthily; towards you, smirking

"Ah-ha!", I shout, pointing
But that-not you,confused
Not you.
I look around; but you've
Disappeared.

I sit; despondent, miserable
I've lost you, I think, forlorn
I've lost you, this is it.
Over.

And there, you are, smiling
I cry and jump and hit you.
And you grin; I laugh-again.

You'll never, lose me, you say
But stubborn I, still, hold on
to you. Go on, try, you say

Afraid, nervous, but try
I look away-and back
You're here.

Convinced, happy, I smile
"Look away", you tease, I glare
You grin, I laugh-again.

What now, you ask, I shrug
"Hide and seek?", you ask, with a glint
"I hide, you seek", reply I.

You raise, eyebrows; challenged
Close, I order; you do
You look away-and back
I'm gone.

Let me hide,
Let me lose myself.
But please dear love,
Find me in the End.

Hi!

That was a totally amazing piece!

You're becoming an absolutely fabulous writer, poet and psychologist. :) Psychologist is a technical word, but not a bad word. :P This was a superlative example of abstraction, and I believe I can guess what inspired it. And I could almost guess from the title itself what it was going to be about! :)

On a somewhat related tangent, a very short piece of fiction from an obscure blog. Here (click).

I'll tell you one secret of life: it's best to learn to enjoy games that can be played alone. :) Sounds cold, and even I'm learning the art. And am from learning it. :(

TC.

PS: With time, I'm getting even more convinced, some of the best blogs on the blogosphere are relatively obscure.

*am far from learning it.

Eeeee! Thank you! That one comment has me grinning. :D
Even better, because I plan to take up Psychology in eleventh.
But I suck at poetry! This is the first poem I've written which I can say read-able. Because I always try to rhyme the words and in the end, always sway from the original point.
My friend Mishika writes the nicest poems, in Hindi and English. You can check them out if you want:
http://mishikasingh.blogspot.com/

And I read The Moment Story. Extremely profound and touching...but what happened in the end? How did she suddenly turn 87?

Of course, some games you play with others and some, you have to play alone. :)
Thanks!=]

Wow!! Srishti, that was wonderful.

That yearning for love to find us is something we all experience. But you wrote about it so wonderfully.

Very, very impressed! :) This was fabulous!

This is the best post of yours that you have ever posted .
Wow.
One poem and believe me it is The best.
It has become one of my favouriites poems.

@TUIB: Thank youu!! But I think you kinda misunderstood. She's not addressing Love to find her...she's actually addressing a person whom she refers to as 'love'.
Thanks!!

@HaRay: Haha thank you, and its the first time I've written something like this too! Dunno how.

@Daksha: Thanks Daksha. That means a lot. I'll tell you a little secret 'bout this tomorrow. ;)

Reminded me of...

"Aaa mere humjholi aa...
Khele aankh michoi aa..
Mein dhoondhu...tu chhup jaa!"

Of course that one is more literal, yours is more of ideas, both light and heavy, intertwined!

//Even better, because I plan to take up Psychology in eleventh.

When you know enough, I'll come to get my head sorted out ;)

BTW, Ketan, I followed the link you provided.

Soon enough I noticed one thing common. Then I went through many months of archive and noticed another thing common. The two things when combined, make a very freaky coincidence of commonness.

In case you noticed, fine. In case you didn't I am not telling!

Of course that fellow writes good arty stuff. I don't. So our 'writing' is not what is common.

Stupidosaur,

If the first common thing you're talking of is the indigenously developed 'jet-assed' LCA fuselage, then, no I didn't miss it!

If you're further asking me, if I had spotted it in my attempt to be a bad-assed heat-seeking missile, then my answer would be 'yes'! :D

In fact, when I'd posted that link, I'd not read the rest of his works in details! I just now read one another post. His imagination is really good!

I couldn't make out the second thing that's common. What is it? I guess, you're referring to the finishing factory?

Anyway, you've made me curious. Hope, you satisfy my curiosity like a good boy! ;)

To Srishti, whatever you're witnessing here is not a cat fight, since neither Stupidosaur nor me are cats. Nor is it a dog fight, simply 'cuz none of us is a dog, and also 'cuz one of us is a mere lowly heat-seeking missile. Nor is it a lizard-fight, 'cuz one of us is not exotic enough to be a lizard playing around on a computer keyboard! ;) Basically, it is not a fight! ;) If you do not understand any of this, you're plain normal! If you seem to be understanding anything, you need rehabilitation!

TC.

PS: Now don't tell me hamara swadesi aasmani keeda sirf pankhe ki hawaa phekta hai! I know that. The ignited posterior was only for the effect! :P

Well Ketan, I ain't such a good boy. I am a Stupid reptile. So I will not give any answer. But I'll surely give hints.

As you read back through his archives, make sure to click all links he gives. One of them will give an 'Oh Freak!' moment if you look at the resultant page carefully. You have enough data to be able to recognize that coincidence if you do see it.

Srishti, hope you forgive me or stomp on my tail for hijacking comment space so! ;)

Ketan said...

Oops! Got a critical fact wrong! Hope, His Lizesty would forgive me! ;)

Anyway, your fan by mistake installed a fan where there was none! :-SS

Guess, have totally lost my edge in matters of the cutting edge. :(

PS: Were you talking of the pedigree by any chance as that common thing?

Ketan said...

Have I just witnessed the freakiest possible coincidence, right on this page just now!!!!

Ketan said...

Look at the time stamps, above!

Okay thanks, Stupidosaur for the hints! Though your hint is not exactly conducive to my preparation for exams. :(

But will try, anyway.

Wow.
I understand nothing.
So guess I'm normal.
Thank God.

And btw, Stupii, I'll be waiting. :) Though I doubt I'll never know enough to sort YOU out. ;)
